#GiveBack

As the flag-bearer of the #regularbrag – I love making money. I can fly first class, drink nice champagne, and get weekly massages.

Yet a day doesn’t go by without the recognition that I’ve been put in an incredibly fortunate position to live in contribution. But it wasn’t always this way.

You’ve heard my story. It makes me step back, look at where I’ve come from and appreciate every second of every day that I get to do what I LOVE.

Which is why I’m also a flag-bearer for FreeFrom.

We donate a portion of everything we make to FreeFrom, an incredible organization that works to help survivors of domestic violence achieve financial stability so that they can build lives free from violence for themselves and their children.

I’ve built a stable and lucrative business that has provided more financial independence and abundance than I could have ever imagined. But many other women in abusive relationships aren’t so lucky. Faced with the choice between a shelter and returning home, they make the dangerous choice of going back to their abuser… and finances are usually a part of this decision. Access to money, the key to freedom, is an aspect of domestic violence that rarely gets attention.

FreeFrom’s goal is to help survivors start their own small businesses and cooperatives through incubator support – business planning, accounting training, legal help, strategic consulting – and startup grants. I can’t think of a more fitting way to celebrate where I’ve come from and where I’m at now, than to support an organization that is tackling this important work.
